Gender and ethnic diversity are extremely uncommon in Christian charities and para-church ministries, with the majority leadership, board, and executive roles being filled by white males. Over half of the 33 ministries contacting for a report on diversity refused to reply, with some dismissing the report as “political correctness.” However, Compassion International and Youth for Christ leaders reported that diversity are critically important for ministries.
