What do US Muslims really believe?

Two recent studies, the WND/Wenzel Poll and the CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) assessment have found the following about what Muslims in the US believe and are thinking:

  • nearly half say parodies of Muhammad should be prosecuted criminally and offenders given punishments up to the death penalty
  • 68% planned to vote for Obama, 7% for Romney, 25% were undecided
  • 40 percent of Muslims in America believe they should not be judged by U.S. law and the Constitution but by Shariah standards.
  • Nearly 55 percent of the American Muslim voters say the U.S. is on the right track, and another 13 percent are uncertain.
  • One in eight respondents said they think those Americans who criticize or parody Islam should face the death penalty
  • Four in 10 said Muslims in America should be judged by Islamic law, Shariah.
  • In the CAIR poll, 66 percent said they are closer to the Democratic Party, while affiliation with the GOP was about 9 percent.
  • While 39 percent of Muslims said they believe existing U.S. courts should consult Shariah law when adjudicating cases involving Muslims, a plurality of 45 percent said they do not agree with this idea. Asked if the U.S. should establish separate courts based solely on Shariah law to adjudicate cases involving Muslim, 21 percent said it should. Two-thirds of respondents – 66 percent – said that separate courts are not necessary to adjudicate Muslims
  • One in five say Muslim men should be allowed to follow their religion in America and have more than one wife, and 58 percent said criticism of their religion or of Muhammad should not be allowed under the Constitution.
  • While 43 percent said they disagreed with the idea of Christians evangelizing Muslims, another 27 percent said they were undecided. Only 19 percent said they “strongly agree” with the idea that Americans have a right to invite Muslims to consider another faith.
  • Nearly one in three said Israel either has no right to exist or they were uncertain whether it does.

Please know this is a mashup of both polls.  You can read more details here.

For those who seek citizenship, many obviously don’t intend to obey our laws or Constitution, so why do we allow them to enter out country and stay? We are allowing an element of other nationals to come into our nation who have no intention of submitting to the principles of the Constitution, but who are intent on subverting our Constitution and laws.

I know that I will get creamed for this comment, but anyone who has paid attention to Islamic history will see that they don’t assimilate or live peaceably among others once they obtain approximately 7-11% of the population, then they seek to subvert and conquer through Islamic/Sharia Law. Most of Europe has found this out, especially Britain. Our tolerance is creating our own downfall. And for those who want to blend our Chistian faith and Islam, I can only think of one word: fools.

This doesn’t mean we don’t attempt to evangelize the Muslim population, but we had better stop turning a blind eye and deaf ear to those who have no intention of enjoying the principles of freedom we currently possess, but who are seeking to subvert our freedoms and safety.

How one present things is important: for instance, what if this article said what is implied in a different ways… that

Over half half say parodies of Muhammad should NOT be prosecuted criminally and offenders given punishments up to the death penalty

That 60 percent of Muslims in America believe they should be judged by U.S. law and the Constitution and not by Shariah standards.

That 7 in eight respondents said they think those Americans who criticize or parody Islam should NOT face the death penalty

that 6 in 10 did NOT say Muslims in America should be judged by Islamic law, Shariah.

That 4 in 5 DO NOT say say Muslim men should be allowed to follow their religion in America and have more than one wife…and 42 percent said criticism of their religion or of Muhammad should be allowed under the Constitution.

when you look for reasons to hate, you can usually find them.

I can’t help but notice whenever someone points out that sharia is among other things, a political system that seeks to take over eventually – some plug their ears and calls it “hate.”

  4. Michael says:

The fact that a full half of Muslim respondents said those insult the prophet should suffer the death penalty is still a huge problem Kevin. Whether you want to acknowledge it or not. I don’t see why it’s hate to note these troubling stats.

  5. Shane says:

Here’s my thought: Since eight or nine out of every ten Muslims don’t have a friend who loves Jesus, one thing we could do is make a Muslim friend and ask them what they think of these questions.

    • Gary H says:

Shane, I have a friend who is a Muslim background convert and he tells me he is afraid to “evangelize” some male members of his family, especially those still in the Mid East, because “they will kill me.” He enjoys our freedoms in the U.S. and is very much against sharia here.
