The Edifi tablet hits the market

Maurilio Amorim shares this morning about the worlds first “Christian” tablet that has hit the market, exclusively from Family Christian Stores.

It’s called the “Edifi”

Tricky name.

You can watch Christian movies, listen to Christian radio station, even search with the ‘safe search’ browser.

Here’s the promo video:

Come on LifeWay… you’re let Family Christian Stores eat your lunch on this one.

:)

No word on pricing.

Marketing win or huge sucking sound at the cash register?  What do you think?

I think it is selling for $149. But I think the 1st Christian tablet is what the 10 commandments were written on. :)

    Sanitized for your protection.

  3. showing a 3D mockup is not compelling… sorry…

It makes me wonder if it will be as good as Apple. For example when a game called Guitar Praise came out it was supposed to be a fun alternative to Rock Band or Guitar Hero. The only problem was you could only play it on a computer and not a t.v. and only one person could play it at a time. It was not a good replacement from platform to performance.

Not really sure what the purpose is. I can safe browse on my iPad too and I am fully in control with what content is on it.

  5. Pastor Phil says:

If it only runs Christian apps, then it is only as good as the Christians who made them. I would love a safe search tablet. I would also like to be able to access other apps that may not come form Family Bookstore like evernote, etc.

Does the email feature have a language &/or stupidity filter to keep us from saying things we’ll regret (unless, of course, you can find the words in the time honored KJV)?

  7. Nunuv Yerbiznezz says:

Gee, I didn’t know that an inanimate piece of machinery could be Christian. I thought you had to, y’know, have a soul and be baptized and do lots of prayin’ an’ other holy stuff.

  8. BixBunny says:

I don’t see it doing anything that a Kindle can’t do, and you can get a BUNCH of free Christian books from Amazin.
