If you missed the NINES a couple of weeks ago, you missed a great finale video from Rick Warren.
Everyone wants to be a superstar. But here’s the truth:
Your local church is far more important than your fame.
If you missed the NINES, you can still watch all the videos and download the program book (for a very small price)… in fact… over 150 videos are archived and ready for you to watch with your team at your convenience.

I thought he made some great points… I liked how he put the idea of being too productive and effective to worry about being visible or jockying for position. I really like that more pastors are saying that…
I think its kind of hypocritical for a superstar pastor to talk about other superstar pastors… He too has the ear of presidents, kings and princes… he’s involved in conferences, he too write books… it is my opinion when a preacher is called to pastor a church, that preacher shouldn’t be absent from his pulpit more than six times per year. For a pastor to be absent from his pulpit more than six timer in a year, that makes the pastor an traveling evangelist…
Wow Rev. It didnt take you anytime at all to go negative! Hope your day improves. Maybe you need to add little fiber in your diet?
I think Rick Warren is a great church leader as well as a Pastor of several churches one being online that reaches the world for anyone that wants an online Pastor. Rick Warren is REAL and doesn’t demand being called by a title as some call themselves “Reverend” or “Rev”. When I see that I know what is coming… give me the spotlight… selfish… hypocritical…
I didn’t find it hypocritical because I thought he was saying don’t aim for superstardom but instead aim for faithfulness, productivity, and effectiveness and if you happen to get elevated in the process then fine (rather than your focus being “trying to get elevated” as your faithfulness/effectiveness/productivity goes by the wayside-I’m summarizing of course).
Wow! Rev.Christian, I’m sure glad you know enough about Warren and Saddleback Church to judge him/them. To be honest, I think I heard a jealous spirit rearing up his head.
