Mark Driscoll pretty much sums up my thoughts on religious people:

What do YOU think?

    WOW
    very thought provoking…..
the best part is, he revealed areas that I have spiritually matured “through” ….
and illuminated some areas I need to pray about and be aware of….
this is a good Monday Morning inspiration
    Thank you

  2. A. Amos Love says:

Hmmm? What’s wrong with “religious people?”

Seems this guy, is talking about himself for the whole video – He is “religious people”

By his own definition, he is a “Religious People” because he says….

1 – They are negatives defined by what they are “against.”

Isn’t this guy defining himself as a “Religious People?”
By being “against”“critical” “negative” of religious people? Especially…

“religious people” – Who are “against” and “critical” of how he acts and believes?

He even says, somewhere in this video…
“When you catch a religious person, they say something that is NOT true – and you correct them – then they attack your character persoanally – they try to shift the subjest – their sin to your character.”

And now he’ll “shift the subjest” from what “concerened believers” are against – To…

Their character – They are “against” him – so now they are “religious people”

“religious people” pick fights in public” – Be careful you don’t get sucked in – Blogs….

Sounds like he is defending himself – by making those “critical” of him – look bad.
Sounds like he is trying to defame, and shut up, those who disagree with him.

    Romans 2:1
Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man,
    whosoever thou art that judgest:
    for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself;
for thou that judgest doest the same things.

Me thinks this guy protesteth too much…

  3. Steve Miller says:

Oh Christians are to be very very very critical. We are called to be critical, but not against people but against deceptions of truth. This is why you can be against the religiosity of “religious folks, but not become a religious person.

It all comes down to how you define your morality, is it by what you do and what you don’t do-that is to be religious; or is it by who you know (Jesus) and what He has done.

Churches and leaders who don’t practice critical thinking and critical discernment end up in critical condition.

  4. If you want negative just go encourage a seasoned sibling in Christ that they are the righteousness of God as a free gift. One guy slapped me in the head when I did! Another slammed the door but called later to apologize. Is it a sin to think too highly of my low opinion of myself?
