Millennials Are More Generous Than You Think

Millennials are much more social and personalized in their giving, and churches need to learn how to work with that trend. For instance, 56% of men ages 18-34 support charities compared to 36% of older men. Millennials like more choices, options, and social sharing opportunities, and 62% give via mobile phones and 57% want to see the impact of their gifts.

Churches can’t afford to overlook the ways that millennials want to generously give, but it will mean more work for many churches.

  • Social Giving? While confidentiality is important according to scripture, are there ways to make giving a more communal or social event?

  • Giving to Go: While church attendance frequency is declining, millennials still want to donate regularly through online giving and mobile giving.
