When long-time founding pastor Rob Bell announced his resignation, Mars Hill had announced that Shane Hipps would take his place as teaching pastor. Then Shane Hipps announced his resignation, it was back the drawing board.
Well… Mars Hill Church in Michigan (no relation to Mars Hill Seattle or Mark Driscoll) has announced their new teaching pastor; and it’s a name familiar to the church and the Grand Rapids Community.
Kent Dobson will assume the Teaching pastor role in September. Kent is the son of Ed Dobson, from Calvary Church in Grand Rapids.
I believe (if my memory serves me correctly) that Rob Bell was on staff with Kent’s father years ago at Calvary.

I’m curious to know if Mars Hill has seen attendance increase or decrease after Rob’s departure….any ideas?
