What do YOU think?

Would you use your platform to discuss the inauguration?  And are leaders like Driscoll and Piper allowed to how personal thoughts (separated from their ministry leadership) on their Twitter accounts without everyone throwing a hairy conniption fit?

Love Driscoll and love Piper, but to me those comments seem harsh-especially since Obama has always claimed to be a Christian.

My old pastor Rich Nathan talked to Barack when he was still a senator and Obama asked legit questions about his faith and was humble in asking for confirmation on his conversion experience. I don’t agree much with Obama on major political issues but I’d be hesitant to ever declare he isn’t a believer.

what makes a Christian a confession by tongue only or a confession backed up with a lifestyle??? So many today are claiming to be Christians audible only… but are living as they please…

      • steve miller says:

What makes a Christian confession of faith legit is when Christ enters the believer through the Holy Spirit and gives the person new life and new birth. The evidence is a changed lifestyle, but lack of evidence can be a sign of no change, immature faith, weak faith, disobedience, etc.

We must be careful and discerning. We are instructed to pray for our leaders (even bad ones)

1 Timothy 2:1-3 “The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Savior God wants us to live.”

PRAY, absolutely! Prayer without active responses is like going to church with I Pad plugs in your ears. We are all John the Baptists ready to have our heads lopped off.

The tweets are cheap shots. However, it is exciting to have renowned Churchmen Speak Out the Truth of Obama. I wish that these men would present a Biblical study that definitively displayed for all people to see the fraudulence of the President’s life/actions and verbage, then the tweets would have impact beyond being a flatulent reaction.

B.O. has stated publicly that he does NOT believe Jesus is the only way to God, but that there are many paths. He has publicly stated his belief in “collective salvation.” He has also publicly stated that he does not accept everything in the Bible. All very good reasons to doubt his faith.

Driscoll said he is praying for the President because of these things. Seems to me that’s what the scripture calls us to do – pray for our leaders.

    • turby says:

Cheap cop out – Go to your prayer closet and let loose to God about B.H.O, The other side of this scenario is ACTION. Tell the world he is sinning against the Holy Spirit.

  4. Rev. K. A. Christian says:

I agree we’re to pray for our leaders… we do it privately and also in public worship… but to just say pray for him and leave it at that is not contending for the faith… He has the international stage and he’s spreading another Gospel as the Apostle Paul said is a false Gospel… and he is to be accursed… no matter who he is or what office he holds… if any person presents another Gospel then the Gospel of the Word let him/her be accursed…

where is our allegiance? God or man?

  5. dguy says:

Hmm…your computer screen must have words on it that mine does not. Nowhere did I (or Driscoll) say that prayer is the ONLY thing we should do. I was merely pointing what the Bible says in connection with what Driscoll said he was doing.

Yes…contend for the faith. But do more than that. Get involved. Write letters and emails to Congress. Talk to friends and family.

    Make a stand!

  6. Fred says:

Driscoll says whatever the itching ears want to hear.
