Pentecostal televangelist Juanita Bynum made a pretty stunning confession on a radio show last week:
I’ve been there and I’ve done it all. I did the drugs, I’ve been with men, I’ve been with women. All of it.
She was promoting her new theater production of “Get Your Life back” that is debuting soon.
It evidently caught the radio show host by surprise. How Frank Ski immediately replied: “Are you serious?”
Bynum later tweeted:
If my life’s testamony offends you then good ..now you can go serve christ for real because he will Never dissappoint you ever!!!
QUESTION: How far should ‘testimonies’ go? Is this not a bit over the edge? (Then again, most of us do not have a stage play to promote).
What’s the most interesting/embarrassing/jaw-dropping testimony you’ve ever heard?
And do testimonies have to be over the edge to be effective?
Would love your thoughts?

I think some of the funniest online comments I’ve ever read is when she was writing in tongues. Here:

Well I have my own testimony that is pretty rough around the edges. But I do feel God has called me to share it. I also feel God has called me to share ALL of it. Secrets are from satan, and the more we hide the more power he has over us. So I have chosen to commit myself to remaining secret free. That means sometimes I may have to share things that are hard for me to talk about. But at the same time, I acknowledge that God may use what happened to me to reach someone that no other person may have been able to reach.
I do feel, however, that there is a time and place for everything. I have a blog where I write a lot of my testimony, and it has a disclaimer about adult material. Much of my story is not fitting for children to hear, nor do I go around telling intimate details to everyone I meet. But I do believe that EVERY part of my story can and will be used by God. Therefore, to hide some of it would be hindering his work.
