I’m sure you’ve heard about the current discussion in the boy scouts about homosexuality.
It’s a big deal.
But I’m wondering… are you talking publicly about this, or keeping to yourself?
Should you be talking publicly about this? Should you be silent?
That’s a really big question.
Here’s a response from Richard Land from the SBC.
Do you agree? Disagree?
Would you say this from your pulpit? Is your church taking a public stand on this issue?
I’d really be interested in knowing what you think…

I don’t talk about it from my pulpit because I can’t even talk about it in private conversations without weeping. As a victim of a Scout Leader’s sexual abuse 40+ years ago, I weep for the young boys & men who will be abused by this decision. While there is probably not a higher percentage of homosexual men than straight men who sexually abuse children and teens, the straight men are divided up between girls and boys. The homosexual men will only prey on boys and young men. (Literally as I was typing this an AP bulletin came in saying that the Boy Scouts are delaying the decision. At least some good news).
we don’t sponsor a troop and we don’t engage in the culture war in our pulpit. i am personally telling people that my three sons will leave scouts and i will no longer be a den leader if they change their stance.
