A new poll by LifeWay Christian Research shows that the beliefs of many who identify as Christian may be fairly shallow. “Sometimes, as Christians in America, we’re so busy running from one thing to another without taking the time to really closely see how this relationship with God works” says pollster Scott McConnell.
Why this story matters for church leaders:
LifeWay Research asked 47 questions of more than 3,000 Americans. The answers may not surprise you but they could certainly guide your outreach and message
- People don’t make the time to learn about God: All too often people state their beliefs but don’t take the time to back them up, what can you offer your church to change this?
- Belief doesn’t always match action-Sometimes people can believe one thing and display action in another, how can you help turn this around?
- Let’s talk priorities– Does your congregation need to talk or study about restructuring their time or thought life?
How can you shift the beliefs of your congregation from theory to action and deep understanding?
