Why This Story Matters For Church Leaders:
Some evangelicals feel as though they are the persecuted minority, while others feel this is a ridiculous notion. No matter your feelings and opinions, it’s important to seek to listen and understand everyone in your community with grace and humility.

  • How is your church perceived? Are you known as a place of help and healing to your community members or do you feel like outsiders? What can you do to bridge that gap?
  • Consider the cost: No one likes hearing a negative opinion about themselves or their organization, but unless you are in real danger focus that energy on helping the needy and impoverished, persecuted in your area.
  • Lead by example– Be someone your congregation can look to, and model their lives after. Someone who seeks to put an end to intolerance and persecution across the board.

Are you evangelizing from a place of inclusion or exclusivity?
