Abortion Clinics Blessed by Clergy in Cleveland

Clergy from Episcopal and Methodist churches in Cleveland, OH visited an abortion clinic in order to show their support. One of the clergy members tweeted that God is the ultimate escort into the clinic. The clergy also held signs thanking God for abortion providers.

Why this story matters for church leaders:

How do churches stay focused on helping expecting mothers and the unborn in the midst of a rather extreme act of blessing an abortion clinic?

  • Beyond Publicity Stunts: It’s likely that publicly blessing an abortion clinic is a publicity stunt. How do church leaders manage their outrage so that they can focus on solutions?
  • Avoiding Extremes: The angry insults of some pro-life activists have given these clergy material to use in their publicity actions. How do Pro-Life groups balance addressing the seriousness of abortion with providing outreach to mothers who may be on the fence with abortion?
  • An Appropriate Response: What does an appropriate response to this event look like?

What does compassionate and effective activism for the Pro-Life movement look like in your area?

It has been excruciating watching the Episcopal and Methodist circle the drain. I never expected to see entire denominations ignore the Bible.

Don’t matter. They are not true ministers of the Lord. The word of God does not support women ministers, it does not support abortion, it does not support homosexuality or transgender.
You see this is WHY the CHURCH is in DISRRAY because the CHILDREN of the DEVIL are mixed in. Why these aren’t even churches they are DAY CARES.
John 8:44New King James Version (NKJV) You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

JESUS DOESN’T KNOW THEM… Matthew 7:21-23 New King James Version (NKJV)
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
